The Racquet Club of Irvine offers top-notch on-court guidance from a stable of distinctive coaches.  Each Professional embodies decades of experience they’re eager to share with you. Whether it’s fine-tuning that one-handed backhand or learning to crush a serve, we’ve got you covered.

All Pro’s are well versed in instruction for all ages and play levels.

Robert Chu
Director of Tennis
Robert grew up in Orange County and was a top ranked junior in each age division earning a top 25 National Ranking. He then became an NCAA All-American at Chapman University. His competitive playing resume includes wins over some of the best players in the world. He has an outstanding track record of developing highly successful players at every age and level. From young developing players, to high performance juniors/collegiate athletes, to adults of every level. Robert’s energy, passion, and knowledge for the game of tennis is contagious both on and off the court.
George Tate
Tennis Professional
High School All-American, and a full scholarship player at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Ok. Spent 11 years with the Grip n Rip after-school at the Newport Beach Tennis Club, and the past few years here at RCI. George loves to work with every level of tennis player and brings a wealth of knowledge to any aspiring player.
Andreas Weyerman
Tennis Professional
Andreas is one of our most experienced coaches. He played high school and college tennis in the 70's at East Los Angeles College, then 4 years in the Air Force. From 1981-1983 further on the usta pro circuit. He started his first high school head coach position in 1983 at Santa Fe High School, then Flint Ridge Sacred Heart Academy High School, Mater Dei, and finally Whitney High School. He was the head coach at Cal Poly Pomona and also coach at Cal State Fullerton. Andreas also led the Tennis Program at Sierra Madre for 20 years. His experience teaching is vast and has taught him the most important thing... just have fun getting it done. Living with tennis, playing with passion, sharing a competitive spirit with others is what he wants all hisstudents to learn. This attitude will have you playing tennis for life!
Thales Castro

Thales Castro is a professional tennis player from Brazil. Former Top 20 player in the nation, as well as top ranked in his original state. As a junior player, he moved to the U.S at the age of 18 years old to play college tennis. After 2 years of playing for his school and also competing in the men’s open division in SoCal, he decided to become a full-time tennis coach and share his love and passion for the sport with the younger generation. His experience spans across beginners, intermediate, and high-performance tennis players. Thales is known for his on court energy and knowledgebase for tennis.
Marco Rodriguez
Adult Director of Tennis
Marco was born and raised in McAllen, Texas. He graduated from the University of Texas-Pan American with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. After a short stint in sports psychology, he started a tennis coaching career that's now decades long. Marco joins us with more than 20 years of experience coaching adults and juniors at all levels. Marco's energy and passion for the game of tennis are easy to see. "Get ready to work hard and get better, more importantly, let me know what I can do to help!"
Giuliano Coria
Tennis Professional
Giuliano was born in Argentina and raised in the US, so he’s experienced both Clay and Hard courts. He played at the highest level of junior tournaments while also dominating his varsity HS league. He continues to compete at a high level by playing Men's Opens and battling college tennis players. He has an unmatchable amount of energy and is ready to elevate any type of player to the next level. Giulliano has an inspiring on court presence that young players look up to and feel empowered from. He has a wonderful knack for bringing out the hard work in a player.
Matias Cresitelli
Tennis Professional
Matias has always been an athlete competing at a high level in a variety of sports. He started playing tennis at a very young age competing all over California by playing high-level tournaments. His high school varsity career was exceptional as he overpowered his competition all four years. He is full of competitive knowledge and is exceptional at pinpointing opportunities in your game. He enjoys coaching at every level, and is always ready to bring his energy and his enthusiasm to the court.
Majeed Bhukari
Tennis Professional
Majeed was born in Spokane, Washington. Shortly after birth, his family moved to Saudi Arabia. He grew up there and at the age of 13 moved back to the States, however this time to Texas. Majeed played juniors in Texas and reached the top 30 in the USA U16. His success took him to the Weil Tennis Academy in California and he graduated high school here in California. Majeed went on to play Division I tennis at Portland State University and he also competed in the 2019 Davis Cup representing Saudi Arabia. He still competes at a high level, playing men’s opens and UTR Pro tournaments. His passion is easy to see out there and he loves helping players develop on and off the court.

My goal is to help you meet your goal. After starting tennis at 5 years old, competing in open tournaments, running group clinics, and coaching privately for years; I am passionate about educating students in the art of tennis. I believe in teaching modern techniques, court etiquette, strategy, and most importantly empowerment. Hope to see you on the court!
Donna Ewing

TENNIS HISTORY: Played college tennis for Cal Poly Pomona, two-time All American, held a #1 national ranking in doubles for both seasons. A doubles semi-finalist in the 1990 NCAA Division II National championships, a finalist in the 1991 National Championships, and member of the 1991 NCAA Division II National Championship team. Donna was the assistant women’s tennis coach at Cal Poly Pomona '98. TENNIS NOW: A teaching professional at the Racquet Club of Irvine since 1999, Donna believes that tennis is a great sport for everyone, and her goal is to create a fun, safe and supportive environment where students of all ages can grow their games.
Steven Tran
Tennis Professional
Steven coached tennis at Mater Dei and CSULB Tennis Club for 2 years. Now in his 2nd year as a junior development coach at RCI, Steven specializes in coaching the technical fundamentals of tennis. His uplifting energy on the court inspires players to improve each and every day. You can normally find Steven guiding our youngest of players in clinic and offering his inspiration to love the game as much as he does.
Fiorella Coria
Tennis Professional
Born in Argentina and moved to the US at the age of 7. Entered the tennis world shortly after. Fiorella competed in national tournaments in the US as well as in Argentina. She spent most of her summer breaks training in academies in Buenos Aires and competing in international tournaments in Argentina, Chile, Paraguay as well as in the United States. Attended Drexel University on a full scholarship to play Division I tennis. Graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, and Fiorella is currently in Medical School at the University of Buenos Aires. Enjoy her while ya can:)
Maia Ho

Maia is the perfect coach for your youngster or youth player. The little ones love her and her calm and fun on-court presence. Maia is a great option for parents looking to get their kids into the game. She's a top level player herself with a great passion for the game. You'll see Maia teaching daily in our NetGen classes and Junior Development levels too.
